The future of two-year-old Estrella takes an unexpected turn during a full moon night, when, with her mother, the two find themselves drifting in the waters of the Caribbean Sea. The currents take the small fragile boat to La Perla, an extraordinary island, a mystical place where they are welcomed by “Las Nanas”, two elderly women.

Estrella becomes a young lady under the care of Las Nanas and the inhabitants of La Perla, after losing her mother—who couldn’t let go of the past tormenting her heart. Estrella’s interest in knowing what lies beyond the confines of the island, beyond where the horizon disappears, increases every day. She wants to discover and understand what her destiny is.
